FUN!DAMENTAL FRIDAYS
TRAIN WITH A CCJ NATIONAL TEAM EACH FRIDAY

Club Cactus Juniors is excited to announce a new program ... Fun!damental Fridays!   

 

Select CCJ Teams and Coaches will be hosting different clinics specifically designed for younger athletes.  The goal is to enhance skill development for 14U/13U/12U players by training with our competitive club team athletes in an organized and fun setting.

For example, the first session will be Friday, February 2 with our CCJ 18-Mizuno Team.  This competitive team is comprised of Seniors, most of which first attended our Youth Academy programs before starting to play on the club's 12U teams.  The squad has won the Silver Medal (2023) and Bronze Medal (2022) in their respective division the past few years at the USA Volleyball National Championships.  It's a great opportunity for young athletes to train with some of our top athletes as mentors!  CCJ Director Bill Lang will be the Lead Coach.

Our CCJ 17-Mizuno Team will be the host on Friday, February 9.  This squad represents some of the best juniors in the city and another opportunity for young athletes to train with some of our National Team athletes as mentors!  CCJ National Team and Lead Coach Tim Nordensson will be the Lead Coach.

• These clinics are open to current CCJ and YA Athletes as well as any young athlete that wants to train with our teams.  We will be adding new clinic dates (with the hosting team and/or coaches) during the club season.  

• Register for as many as you wish.

• The skill level is dependent on those that attend and the coaching staff will group athletes by age and ability.

• The Friday Sessions will be  at the Sporting Chance Center, located at 2100 W. Curtis Road.

• These Clinics are open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

​FEBRUARY 2:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS WITH CCJ 18-MIZUNO (OPEN TO 14U/12U ATHLETES)

Come train with CCJ's top Senior Team... 18-Mizuno.  The clinic is open to 14U and 12U athletes and will be conducted by our CCJ 18-Mizuno Team.  CCJ Director and Head Coach Bill Lang will be the Lead Coach

​FEBRUARY 9:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS WITH CCJ 17-MIZUNO (OPEN TO 14U/12U ATHLETES)

This squad represents some of the best juniors in the city and another opportunity for young athletes to train with some of our National Team athletes as mentors!  CCJ National Team and Lead Coach Tim Nordensson will be the Lead Coach.

​FEBRUARY 16:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS WITH CCJ 14-SILVER (OPEN TO 12U/11U/10U ATHLETES)

While the high school National Teams are out-of-town for National tournaments, our CCJ 14-Silver team will host a younger athlete clinic.  This clinic will be geared for the youhgest beginner athletes that want to train with one of our Middle School National Teams.  CCJ Coach Sara Lippitt will be the Lead Coach.

​FEBRUARY 23:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS WITH THE CCJ NATIONAL TEAM SETTERS 

Yee-Haw!  The CCJ National Team Coaches, along with the club's top setters, will lead a training session specific to the setter position.  Get some extra reps and feedback from our crew in a special setting clinic.  Lead Coach Elden Haymore.

MARCH 8:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS WITH CCJ 16-MIZUNO (OPEN TO 14U/12U ATHLETES)

This squad represents some of the best sophomores in the Southern Arizona with an opportunity for young athletes to train with some of our National Team athletes!  CCJ National Team Coach (and CCJ Alumni!) Jcalyn Inclan will be the Lead Coach.

• DATE/TIME: March 18 2024; 4:30-6:00 PM

• ENROLLMENT CAP:  32 athletes

MARCH 15:  FRIDAY FUN!DAMENTALS (FIRST CONTACT SKILLS)

The CCJ 13U/12U Lead Coach Courtney Landers will lead a training session specific to first contacts - passing and defending.  Get some extra reps and feedback from our crew in a special clinic.
